• NEW! DCC Mobile Decoders! —

Have you ever wanted motor control and Hyperlight lighting effects without having sound? Soundtraxx® has a new solution for you.

SoundTraxx® is now producing a line of full-featured DCC Mobile Decoders. These decoders provide high performance operation and Hyperlight lighting effects in a variety of easy to use formats. They are designed to be compatible with all Tsunami® Digital Sound Decoders, making customers who wish to speed-match their Tsunami sound decoders to a motor decoder a simple task. All are suitable for models which do not exceed a 1-amp stall current.

All models include SoundTraxx’s Hyperdrive™ Motion Control System, which is found in all Tsunami Digital Sound Decoders and incorporates advanced motor control features such as High Resolution Speed Steps and High Frequency PWM Drive (Pulse-Width-Modulation) to help to eliminate motor ‘hum.’ Hyperdrive also includes such features as programmable speed curves, adjustable momentum, motor trim, Back-EMF motor control and the popular Braking feature found in all Tsunami Digital Sound Decoders.

The N-Scale sized decoder is DCC-Only, 2-function and measures just 0.52" x 0.35" (13.25mm x 9mm). It’s designed to easily install in a variety of engines with limited space (think HOn3). The MC1Z102SQ (P.N. 851002) is manufactured as a versatile, universal-style decoder with a permanently attached wire harness.

The three additional HO decoders, are all four-function motor decoders which will operate in both DC and DCC. Each of the four function outputs can be independently set to any of SoundTraxx’s 14 different Hyperlight lighting effects. Hyperlight effects also include a choice of directional or Rule 17 lighting control, grade crossing timers, adjustable flash rate and a unique LED Brightness Correction control mode that allows the user to compensate for the output differences that typically occur between incandescent bulbs and LEDs.

The MC2H104AT (P.N. 852002) is intended as a replacement for the manufacturer’s light board that comes installed in many Atlas HO diesel models, as well as some InterMountain Railway and older Athearn models. This decoder measures 2.9" x 0.66" (73.66mm x 16.76mm). This format may also work well for some Athearn Ready-to-Run models.

The MC2H104OP (P.N. 852003) comes with a removable harness terminated with a 9-pin JST at one end and an 8-pin NMRA connector on the other. It measures 0.98" x 0.63" (25mm x 16mm) and makes for a plug and play application in a large number of models.

Model MC2H104P9 (P.N. 852004) includes a power harness that is terminated at one end with a removable 9-pin JST connector. This is a versatile, universal-style decoder measuring 0.98" x 0.63" (25mm x 16mm) fits a variety of applications including some brass models with motors that do not stall above 1-amp.

• New Wiring Harness Converts TSU-1000 Digital Sound Decoders to Plug and Play!

There’s new aid to wiring for models that are manufactured using an NMRA-compatible 8-pin socket. Part number 810135 is a wiring harness terminated on end with a 9-pin JST connector and on the other end with an 8-pin plug. This means that all you need to do in order to convert a TSU-1000 to a plug and play decoder is remove the Tsunami power harness and plug in the new harness.

You will NOT void the sound decoder warranty if you remove the just the end of the shrink wrap on the Tsunami to remove the power harness. Please take care not to pull the harness out by its wires; rather use a pair of tweezers or a small screwdriver to gently push on both sides of the connector until it comes free. Make sure when you plug in the new harness that you grasp the connector on the Tsunami to make sure it doesn’t accidentally tear off the board, as the fit can be a bit snug.
