Repairs & Installations
Repairs and installations are expedited whenever possible and handled with care. Since
each project will vary in size and complexity, please contact us to get your individual
quote. Careful communication will assure you of getting the product selection and/or services
you desire.
Custom installations include, but are not limited to:
- Sound Systems — in loco, auxiliary car, or stationary — digital or analog
- DCC decoders — loco, accessory or lighting
- Speaker upgrades — including custom-built enclosures
- Marker lamps and/or drumheads
- Custom lighting — cars or buildings
- Custom-built buildings and/or interiors
- Cab figures and detailing
- Scale coupler installation
- Signaling and/or detection circuitry — including SurroundTraxx™
A $50. deposit is required for all repairs and installations. Parts are manufactured
in the USA or machined in my shop whenever possible. Should additional parts need to be
ordered from the factory, you’ll be notified of any delays.
Please pack your item carefully when shipping it to us. We recommend that you also
obtain a tracking number and insurance; we are not responsible for any loss or damage
that occurs during shipping. Do not ship your item without contacting us first. This will
allow us to “keep an eye out” for your package.
In-house service calls for on-the-railroad installations are available on a very limited
basis, usually in the summer months. These are limited to customers within a 75 mile radius
of Philadelphia. “House calls” are billed at a special rate and require a deposit. Depending
upon the work, several visits may be required. Please contact us for further details.
We aim to complete your repair/installation as quickly as possible. However, prior
in-house jobs, parts acquisition, field work and our show schedule may affect the timing
and completion of the repair. But be assured that we will update you in a timely manner
regarding the status of your project.
